The Beaches Primary follows the National Curriculum Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) guidelines. CAPS prescribes the content which must be taught, but it is up to our teachers to plan how they will teach it to their learners.
FOUNDATION PHASE
Grade R – Grade3
The Foundation Phase is the first phase of formal schooling in South Africa, and is very important in establishing the basis on which learners will grow in formal schooling.

INTERMEDIATE & SENIOR PHASE
Grade 4 – Grade 7
The Intermediate Phase is a very exciting phase of the learners’ preadolescent development as they are becoming more independent, more socially adept and more self-aware. They are also able to more competently grasp the more academic and challenging areas of the school curriculum.
Senior Phase learners continue with the subjects introduced in the Intermediate Phase. In addition two new subjects including Economic Management Sciences (EMS) and Technology are introduced. There is also much greater emphasis placed on further developing their skills and knowledge achieved in the Intermediate Phase.

CURRICULAR AND SPORTS
Our school participates in a range of interschool sports throughout the year. Training for these sporting activities occur on a continuous basis and take place in-house.

Tumbling Tigers
Tumbling Tigers offers fun filled exercise/sport lessons at The Beaches Primary for children where they can physically and mentally develop from top to toe. Lessons are hosted at The Beaches Primary every Tuesday from 10:00 – 11:00 for Grades R – 3. Please contact 082 900 4761 for more information.
Ballito Basketball Academy
Basketball training is hosted at The Beaches Primary every Tuesday from 11:30 – 12:30 for Grades 4 – 7. Please contact 078 849 4313 for more information.
